Okurayama Viewing Point

Sapporo, with a population of 1.9 million people, is the largest city in the northern regions. Okurayama features views from the city of Sapporo all the way to the far horizon, and is renowned for its ski jump stadium that was used at the Winter Olympics held in Sapporo in 1972. The area currently includes modern facilities that make it possible to perform ski jumps during the summer and at night, and is also the location of many international competitions.
Visitors can take the ski lift to the peak, where there is a viewing lounge at an elevation of 307 meters that provides panoramic views of the city of Sapporo, the Ishikari Plain, and Ishikari Bay.
Also, another appealing point is that on the way up to the summit, the start line of the ski jump is visible at a side glance. You will feel as if you have stepped into a ski jumper's shoes as you gaze down at the steep approach of the ski jump from top to bottom.

Viewing Point

Here, you can reach the top of the ski jump riding the same lifts that are used during competitions. The riding time for the lift is 5 minutes one-way, and staff are there to assist so first-timers need not be concerned. The whole of Sapporo City can be gazed upon from the viewing point, famous locations can be seen such as the main street Odoori and the TV Tower.
